Fabric Care Guide

Easy Care for Real Life

Little Snug Bug pieces are designed for low-maintenance daily wear and can easily be tossed into your usual laundry routine. However, if you want to extend the life and softness of your fabrics, we’ve put together this quick care guide.

A quick temperature tip: For normal everyday washing, 30°C is our golden rule. It is the most gentle temperature for preserving fabric fibers and preventing shrinkage, while still giving you a complete clean with modern detergents. For heavier stains, 40°C works great.

To keep your Little Snug Bug pieces looking and feeling their best, follow the specific fabric guides below:

Slub Cotton (竹節棉)  |  Double Gauze (雙層紗布)

 Slub Cotton (竹節棉)

Slub cotton is known for its deliberate, uneven texture with thick and thin slub lines, giving it a beautiful, rustic, and casual look.

Washing

  • Machine wash on a gentle/delicate cycle, or hand wash.
  • Wash inside out to protect the textured surface from friction and pilling.

Drying

  • Air dry in the shade. Hanging is fine, but avoid harsh direct sunlight which can fade colours.
  • If using a dryer, use the lowest heat / delicate setting and remove while still slightly damp to finish air drying.

Ironing

  • Slub cotton has a naturally relaxed, slightly wrinkled look and usually does not need ironing.
  • If needed, iron inside out on low-medium heat. Avoid heavy steaming — too much moisture can cause the fabric to temporarily sag or lose its shape.

Double Gauze (雙層紗布)

Double gauze consists of two layers of fine gauze basted together at regular intervals. It is incredibly soft, lightweight, and breathable — but its loose weave makes it delicate.

Washing

  • Always use a mesh laundry bag if machine washing. The loose weave can snag easily on zippers, buttons, or velcro from other garments.
  • Wash with similar lightweight garments only. Never wash with heavy items like denim.

Drying

  • Lay flat to dry on a clean towel or rack where possible. Hanging wet double gauze can cause gravity to stretch it out of shape.
  • Double gauze actually gets softer and develops its signature crinkly personality after the first few washes!

Ironing

  • Do not iron. Ironing flattens the beautiful, airy texture that gives double gauze its loft and breathability.
  • For creases, use a garment steamer from a short distance — do not let the iron plate touch the fabric directly.
